I have been tested positive, what next?

Firstly, do not panic and don't be afraid. You will have all the help you need in getting through this.

1. In most likelihood, you probably have symptoms or were exposed in a manner or have travel history that made you take the Covid test. Thus, if you are tested positive, ensure that you have all the medical instructions in place from your doctor.

2. If you share your home with family members, it is advised that they get tested too, even if they have no symptoms, and there-on follow all instructions advised by your doctor. If you stay alone and need help arranging for your daily needs, food and medicines, the society management committee members shall certainly assist you.

3. Stay home quarantined, or room quarantined and see to it that you do not become a spreader. Even if you do not have symptoms, you could be highly contagious and we expect you to be responsible in this matter. Monitor your health regularly and stay in touch with your doctor.

4. Do not step outside of your home until you have two consistent negative test results. If hospital admission is necessary, please do so - do not delay it for any reason. Timely diagnosis of symptoms is necessary to fight Covid19. Please ensure to complete your quarantine which can range from 15 to 21 days depending on severity of symtoms.

5. Reach out to your MC members and inform them the details so that all necessary steps can be taken to alert support staff and ensure that precautionary measures are heightened. The MC shall not share your details publicly on any forums, however will need to intimate the support staff who will enable you to stay home quarantined.

6. Your floor neighbors shall be informed of your situation and the floor space and common areas shall be sanitised once a day.

7. Maid / domestic help / cook etc: Nobody shall be allowed to enter your flat during your quarantine period, which will be tagged so in mygate. Share the details of your maid with the MC. The maid will need to take care herself / himself and may be asked to not visit the society for 7 days even if she / he does not have symptoms, and share a negative RTPCR report, as may be the govt. guidelines prescribed.

8. Garbage disposal: Do not use bins to dispose your garbage. Use the recommended environment friendly black garbage disposal bags, tie them properly and keep them outside your door. Ensure to segregate your wet and dry waste. Do not come out and hand over garbage, just keep it outside your residence. Always use a mask when placing the garbage bag outside.

9. Parcels: Avoid any parcel deliveries during your quarantine period. All supplies of daily need shall be brought to your doorstep by the security guard twice or thrice in a day, at max. mygate app has the guard numbers and you can reach out to them if intercom is not an option. Avoid any interaction with any delivery person. Ask them to leave the parcels at your doorstep and leave. Do not make any cash transactions.

10. Guests / visitors: All the visitors who may have visited your flat in last 7 days will have to be notified. They will need to keep a watch on their own symptoms. That is the nature of the virus is such that you could have either infected them, or they could have infected you. Those bodies which are able to fight it can resist it longer.
