EMERGENCY SITUATION 12 MAR 10.30 AM
This is to inform all members that there was a massive fire in A3 meter room which has damaged more than half the meters. As such for the last 24 hours A3 building has been without any power, no lights inside the homes, no elevators, no common lighting. Water supply has been arranged by bypassing the pumps, but water pressure pump for higher flows also has been inactive. No DG supply can be provided either. Temporary arrangements are being made to draw supply from SOJ common line until permanent repairs can begin.
We are thankful that nobody was harmed in the incident and applaud the team on the ground and A3 MC who acted promptly to contain the damage, calling MSEB, calling fire brigade and doing everything necessary to normalize the situation. Power to A1 A2 and B1 and SOJ common assets like flush pumps, WTP, domestic water pump etc. resumed in 6 hours.
As remedial and precautionary measures A1 A2 MC has decided the following:
1. Conduct electrical fire safety audit for all A1 A2 common areas and meter room
2. Increase ventilation in meter rooms by adding fans and jaali to the closed door
3. Conduct fire safety audit in meter by heat mapping
4. Conduct load testing for each flat - those flats with overload will be warned to change the appliances
5. Conduct load testing for each flat for DG - those flats drawing more load on DG will not be provided DG backup
This audit is mandatory and those flats not willing for inflat inspection cannot be given DG supply anymore.
As a reminder to the SOP, flat owners are requested NOT to conceal the fire lines inside their flats and NOT to fiddle with builder provided concealed cabling. The flat meters are already load adjusted and increasing the load, causes overheating and thereby incidents of fire.
Knowing that this is NOT a remote possibility anymore, we need to be responsible and cautious.
Hoping for your cooperation. The audit will be conducted within next 30 days.
Thanks,
For A1 A2 MC
